ABOUT FAIRFAXFORWARD

Fairfax Forward badge featuring a black and white train with a red background, a black border with white text reading 'Fairfax Forward' and 'Moving Together Towards a Better Tomorrow,' and a small white handshake icon at the bottom.

FairfaxForward is dedicated to shaping a more sustainable, connected, and vibrant Fairfax County by advocating for smart urban planning and reduced car dependency.

We believe that a safer, more walkable community benefits everyone—enhancing local businesses, improving quality of life, and fostering stronger neighborhoods. Our mission is to push for better zoning policies, expanded public transit, and infrastructure that prioritizes pedestrians and cyclists over endless highway expansions.

Through community-driven discussions, policy insights, and active engagement with local decision-makers, we aim to transform Fairfax into a place where people can live, work, and thrive without being forced to rely on cars for every trip.

THE STORY BEHIND FAIRFAXFORWARD

Two teenagers, Hasan Dar and Zayan Durrani grew up in Fairfax County their entire lives. Soon, however, they discovered a fatal flaw- the infrastructure was dangerously unwalkable and merely built for the automobile.

They decided to launch FairfaxForward to create an organized voice for transit and infrastructure in Fairfax County.
